From the Val Lewton produced I Walked With A Zombie, one of the most enjoyable horror films of the 40s. The use of sound is brilliant in this section, the way the drums fade on and off on the soundtrack during their conversation. And the lighting and shadows in the last two minutes, as the sound of running water underscores the tension.
