Monday, March 16, 2009Moment Captured: Heaven's Gate by Ari Probably my favorite sequence in Michael Cimino's underrated masterwork Heaven's Gate. Bob recommended this scene for today's Moment Captured, so I'll leave you with his words: "It might be the sweetest, most beautiful nine-minutes of film ever to come out of American cinema, and while people can always debate the three or four hours that come before and after it, Cimino's artistry and humanity combine here in a way that makes the whole epic, tragic experience that much more palpable and worthwhile."
